Hey I’m taden, i am starting on learning polygon modeling in maya 2010, but not quite sure how to make the planes to add a jpeg to them.. for a front and side view much like in your tutorial.
I had follow the maya helmet tutorial to which i am almost finished with but realy would like to make a buzz lightyear model, but as I said un certain how the make the planes then add the buzz jpegs i have to work from.
Could you help me out here please?

Taden, check this link, http://www.strarup.net/maya/imageplanesetup/part2.asp, to open propiertes select the camera and then ctrl+a.

Adam I am using maya for creating 3D human model. Could i export that model in java and change its dimension using java……..I will be grateful for your reply….

i do not know if the model can be exported to java, i assume you are using java 3d? it is not something i am proficient with, but i did find this tutorial, it may help:
